What is Medieval MC

Both Medieval MC, Better MC, and Fantasy Realms modpacks were created by the same team and owned by xSHXRKIEx. So if you played any of these, you'll notice Medieval MC has a similar start and game design.

This modpack aims to turn your Minecraft experience into a truly medieval experience by taking more modern elements out such as science, magic, and technology. It's a great and light modpack for those looking for a more chill Minecraft experience. Just build things, fight bosses using medieval weapons, and complete quests.

How to play Medieval Minecraft?

When you first fire up the modpack, you'll need to pick your origin. There are many origins you can choose from, some of which are;

Human: Just a regular human. There's nothing exceptional about you.

Avian: This race has lost the ability to fly. But can still glide through the air.

Elf: Elves are magical creatures with an affinity for nature. You'll be skilled in archery and will deal more damage as an elf.

And so much more you can choose from that we won't go into detail to not spoil the experience. As of writing this guide, there are 24 origins available to play.

When you've chosen your origin and started the game, you'll spawn inside a huge village with a lot of resources. The villagers here have been trained in combat and they're ready to defend their home. They'll also be fighting alongside you if there are any outside threads and raids on the village.

Biomes

Biomes you'll be wandering in Medieval MC is quite similar to those of Vanilla Minecraft. The difference, however, they're expanded and improved using a mod called Biome Makeover.

Structures

You'll see plenty of structures you're accustomed to in this modpack, built and generated in a similar fashion to Vanilla houses and castles. However, one type of structure this mod has is underground stone structures. These are entire villages made out of stone and buried underground. Quite fun to explore and turn one of them into your base. These underground village houses will be connected to each other with tunnels with plenty of rooms and villagers inside.

There are even blocked-off parts inside that contain mobs!

Bosses

There are strong and challenging bosses roaming the earth with different strengths, sizes, and looks. But you'll know when you see them. You can fight them to loot their drops.

How much RAM does Medieval MC require?

How much RAM you need will depend on what extra mods you run alongside Medieval MC. If you want to play just the modpack, a 6GB server will work great for you and a few friends. If you plan on running shaders and visually enhancing modpacks, you're going to need a lot more. We recommend at least 8-10 GB of RAM for that case.

Why is medieval Minecraft so laggy?

The main reason for laggy Medieval MC is almost always having insufficient RAM. With only 4GB of RAM, you'll find yourself struggling to keep up with the world around you. So make sure you have enough RAM before you start playing. If you have a low RAM server, your only option is to upgrade the RAM on your server. If it's your PC, you can try allocating more RAM to Minecraft. Also, don't forget to close the other apps running in the background.

Last but not least, if increasing or allocating more RAM isn't an option, try turning off visual options in the game settings such as high-quality texture, clouds, and effects, and lower your chunk generation. Sure, you won't be able to see far, but you'll have a much smoother game in exchange.
